Luxury Travel in Great Britain

Travel to Great Britain with us

For historians or tourists alike, Great Britain is alive with places to see and things to do. A trip from London to Canterbury to see the catedral where Thomas Beckett was killed, combined with a trip to Dover castle to peer across the channel to France, is a starter it would be a shame to miss. A cruise along the river Thames, combined with a whirl on the famous London Eye, or a film makers tour of Lodon with a visit to the Harry Potter studios, or a walk through St James’s Park to Buckingham Palace with an expert guide is just one of so many itineraries to enjoy in London. And London is just the starting point. Never let the attractions of the big city prevent you from getting into the country and seeing the many sights away from the metropolis. From Stonehenge to Salisbury Cathedral and nearby Bath, or up to the university towns of Oxford and Cambridge, we can offer private expert guides, transport, and the best hotels.

Everyone knows the Queen lives in Buckingham Palace. But the tapestry of the Royal history of the Isles involves so much more. From the bloody history of the Tower of London to the ancestral home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, in picturesque Hever castle, the country is alive with the places they lived and the history that wove them into the fabric of the Bristish way of life, From Battle Abbey on the south coast where William the Conqueror came ashore, to Edinburgh castle in Scotland, we can offer a tour which will let you touch the same stones that the most famous characters in history would have brushed their fingers over.

The industrial cities of Manchester and Liverpool are fully modernised. Visit the centre of the industrial north and the home of the Beetles, where Beetlemania is still embedded in the streets. From here, take a trip up to the Lake District, the beautiful land of lakes and mountains brought to life in the tales of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. Take a boat out on luscious Lake Windemere, and climb the hills. From here, travel across the country to historic York, home of Vikings, Abbots and the brief home of Cardinal Wolsley for those who follow the Wolf Hall books.

The highlands of Scotland are a place of heather and legend. From Bonnie Prince Charlie to Robert the Bruce, this is truely another country. Start your tour in London, before flying into Edinburgh airport. Visit the capital of Scotland, taking in the memorable food and trying the local ales. Visit Edinburgh castle with a private guide and explore the shops in the área beneath the castle. From here, a trip north, along roads lined with heather, and alongside the Scottish Lochs. A visit to the Cardhu whiskey distillery is a must see (and must taste) for the conosseur, and for those who enjoy this, another whiskey tasting will be arranged in Edinburgh.

My great grandfather came over from Scotland so I always wanted to come to see some of what he told me about. Edinburgh was everything he told me it would be, and the highlands were just amazing. We even managed to get the family tartan.
